A number of months ago the members of the Crossfit Hydro Gym Board and coaches spent time developing a list of standards that embodied what our community is about and what we expect from each other. A number of other Crossfit gyms have these and they seem to help everyone understand the unique Crossfit environment. With the recent expansion you will see these standards posted throughout the gym. We hope this helps as new members join our community.
Welcome to Crossfit Hydro. As a part of our community we have a few standards we ask everyone to respect. Most are common sense but a reminder can be helpful!
Check your ego/baggage at the door.
Try hard. Effort earns respect.
Be optimistic, have fun and push yourself and those around you to do better. Negativity will not be tolerated. This is a drama-free zone period.
Be nice. Introduce yourself to new members. Cheer for and support fellow athletes.
Take ownership. Be responsible and respectful and take pride in your gym.
Clean up after yourself. Sweat, blood, puke, chalk, equipment, etc.
Listen Up. Coaches need our attention when explaining workouts, movements and scaling. They are here to make us all better.
Educate yourself and track your progress. Learn the movements, ask coaches when you have questions. Record your maxes and personal records so you can see your progress and know what you should be doing in a workout.
Arrive Early and Stay Late. Come work on some mobility before class starts and cool down after class is over. Do not be late for a class.
Be Patient. Progress is different for everyone. Ask coaches for help and do your best.
